I am writing this as I sit next to Nathan editing the first part of the ReThink series, where I go through the weight loss program. Tonight marks the end of my phase I, which consisted of eating whatever I want. I have to admit that I enjoyed this weekend and the lack of concern with what to eat and what not to eat. On the other hand I keep looking up at the screen with the video and cringing and can’t help but be grateful that I’m doing something to get healthy and in shape

Okay, starting today I am on a new diet. The odd thing is that as of now I am allowed to eat whatever I want. Not only whatever I want, but I was strongly encouraged to “gorge” myself and fill up on all my meals. I can’t help but think all weekend that it’s like my last meal before execution. So while I, for a limited time, am supposed to eat whatever I want, I now have doubts. Do I just sit back and relax and enjoy this freedom? No, I do not! All I keep thinking is, “What if I eat too much?” or “What if I eat the wrong things?” or my favorite thought, “I don’t want to eat all I want. I’m finally ready to do this, and don’t want to accidentally put on weight, now that I’m started.”

I have decided to engage us all in a social media experiment in trust. I'm calling it @SGFtraffic. What is it? @SGFtraffic is a group Twitter account for all the people of Springfield, MO to tweet about ongoing and real time traffic alerts in all of 417land. How is this possible? Simple, we all have the password. That's right,

Here is the list of the top 11 films that have changed my life...so far. I say so far because there are so many movies I have yet to see and probably just as many I've fogotten about.

Here is a copy of a FaceBook conversation I was having today about the idea that movies that we watch reflect the nature of person watching them. This may also include the film a person would make. For example; you may be a murderer because you like to watch or movies about killing. The topic is somewhat a big deal to me as I am a filmmaker and people have often ask why I make the films I do.

Last night (21AUG09) when I got to the video store, I wasn’t sure exactly what movie I wanted to watch. I knew I wanted a horror, of course. I love horror and scary movies. Since Megan was out of town and doesn’t always directly watch horror flicks with me (I say directly because sometimes she will, but she doesn’t always look at the TV screen when “watching”)

From the beginning of this film I couldn’t tell what to expect. I felt it was alluding to the possibility that this was going to be a horror film with its high sweeping camera angles and strange figures lurking around in the backgrounds. Then it seemed like the story was getting more odd and involved. What was I watching?! Well, I’ll say it was somewhat of a thriller, but don’t get me wrong it comes with a little twist.
